Application forms must be completed in black or blue ink. All information, especially the contact information, should be LEGIBLE.

Applicant must be an African-American/Black male living in Los Angeles County.

Applicant is being raised in a single-parent household by a single mother.

Applicant must submit an official high school transcript in a sealed envelope. If submitting an unofficial transcript, it must be signed by your counselor, sealed in an envelope with their signature written on the sealed flap and mailed, by your counselor, directly to the scholarship.

Applicant must submit three letters of recommendation with their application. Letters of recommendation should be typed, dated, on official letterhead, and include the contact information of the letter’s writer. The letters must be signed by your recommender, sealed in an envelope with their signature written on the sealed flap. Letters of recommendation are accepted from teachers, guidance counselors, principals, church leaders, employers and/or community service representatives. Letters of recommendation cannot come from family members. It is strongly recommended that you include your recommendations with your application.

Applicant must submit a heartfelt and creative 90 second video describing the significance of their single mother and her sacrifices in raising the applicant. Video should be submitted through the website www.my-get.org/scholarship or via WeTransfer.com to RedrickLNWilliamsScholarship@gmail.com with your name and the words “VIDEO SUBMISSION” in the subject line.
