Application must be completed in full at time of online submission.

Applicant must be an African-American/Black male from the Los Angeles County.
A 2027 high school graduate with a 2.5 GPA or higher.

Applicant is being raised in a single-parent household by a single mother.

Applicant must upload an official high school transcript. Verification of transcript will be required of final applicants.

Applicant must upload three letters of recommendation with their application submission. Letters of recommendation should be on official letterhead, and include the contact information of the letter’s writer. The letters must be signed by your recommender. Letters of recommendation are accepted from teachers, guidance counselors, principals, church leaders, employers and/or community service representatives. Letters of recommendation cannot come from family members. Verification of letters of recommendation will be required by final applicants.

Applicants must be interviewed by the scholarship committee. During the (Zoom) interview, the applicant must prepare a heartfelt statement describing the significance of their single mother and her sacrifices in raising the applicant.
